Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MLA Babu Mohan called on people of the State to reject caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for running an autocratic government and insulting the Dalit community. Speaking at Pulkal mandal headquarters in the constituency here on Wednesday, the four-time MLA said that KCR cheated the local farmers by diverting irrigation waters from the Singur project to the constituencies of his son and daughter. KCR himself became the Chief Minister after promising to make a Dalit the first CM of the State, he recalled.
Babu Mohan demanded to know why journalist Kranthi, who was responsible for stone-pelting at Telangana Bhavan, was given the TRS ticket. “Why did KCR disrespect leaders like me who fought for people’s welfare by denying party ticket?” he demanded to know.
“Of the 105 contestants announced by the TRS, only two candidates were not given the tickets despite being MLAs. Interestingly, both the candidates belong to the Scheduled Castes. The party is recognizing only those leaders who are working for the sake of posts and not public welfare,” he added.
KCR is insulting senior leaders like Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari by denying them tickets, the former TRS leader said. Babu Mohan inaugurated the party office in the mandal in presence of party leaders Kulkarni, Venkat Narsimha Reddy, Raju, Prabhakar Goud, Shyam Goud, Prabhas, Roop, Devi and others.
