The Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) Cyber Crime Police are gearing up to arrest five persons for posting defamatory and vulgar content on web channels and social media regarding YS Sharmila.
According to the investigation officer KCS Raghuveer who is the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Cyber Crime, the police have collected the IP addresses of the web channels from YouTube and Facebook.
Based on the details gathered during the investigation, legal notices were sent to five people under Section 41 CrPC. The five persons were asked to reply to the legal notices within 10 days.
The Hyderabad police had registered a case after a complaint was lodged by YS Sharmila on January 14th. In her complaint, Sharmila has accused the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena of character assassination, posting derogatory content and linking her to actor Prabhas.
The management of the web channels who were used the legal notices sent their representatives to the police station and failed to turn up themselves.
Police once again directed the eight web channels to appear before the police along with the 5 accused.
