The Delhi High Court today asked the TDP Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdary to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on December 3rd (Monday) for questioning over the recent raids made by ED and Income- Tax department.
Mr. Chowdary approached the Delhi High court to quash the summons served to him by ED over the alleged money laundering and financial irregularities. In connection with an alleged 5700 Cr bank fraud case, ED has conducted raids at his offices in Hyderabad, Delhi and went on to seize six expensive cars from former cabinet minister.
The Delhi Court which now ordered Chowdary to appear for questioning has barred the ED from taking any major decision and gave them orders to perform routine questioning. That means, the Rajya Sabha MP and senior leader of TDP won’t be arrested for now.
Sujana Chowdary, who served as Minister of State in Modi’s cabinet, called the raids against him as ‘political vendetta’ and said “companies that I am mentioning have sought loans from the banks by following all the regulations and it’s not defrauding.”
