AP Tourism Minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Akhila Priya was recently in the news for surrendering her gunmen and security on January 5th as a mark of protest against the search operations conducted by district police at the residence of her supporters and family members.
Following suit, Akhila’s brother and Nandyal TDP MLA Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy also surrendered his gunmen and security.
Political talks have been rife since quite some time now that Akhila would be quitting the TDP after she failed to attend the Janmabhoomi programme where TDP chief and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu was himself present at the event. It was later revealed that the Janmabhoomi event coincided with the death anniversary of Akhila’s late father, politician Bhuma Nagi Reddy and that was the reason for her absence from the event.
However, political analysts are of the opinion that Akhila Priya despite being the Allagadda MLA and Tourism Minister of AP might quit the TDP and join either YSRCP or Jana Sena Party.
